PAPER PRESENTATIONS
All those registered in the 30th S.C.H.M.S. have the right to submit (for an award or not) a presentation - announcement in Greek or in English. Each member may participate as an author in as many papers as he/she wishes without limitation, but preferably participate in one as a speaker.
Presentations may be either Oral Presentations or E-posters:
Oral Presentations
They are 10-minute presentations, of which 8 minutes are used for presentation and 2 minutes for discussion with the audience. The presentation will be given by one presenter, but there may be more than one member in the writing group.
Each submission needs to have a supervisor, chosen by the writing team, who can be either a Teaching and Research staff member of the Department of Medicine or of another department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, a postgraduate student or a PhD candidate, or a resident or a medical specialist.
The supervisor of each assignment does not have to register for the conference, as he/she will receive a special invitation after being included in the Scientific Committee. The writing team, in consultation with the supervisor, selects the topic of the assignment, which should fall into one of the categories listed in the following guide.
Please note: ALL authors participating in the presentation are required to have completed registration for the conference in order to submit the paper, not just the presenter (excluding Faculty Members). In the event that a member of the author team has not registered, the team coordinator will be notified.
Posted Announcements - E-posters
The e-posters will consist of a single slide and will be presented at a specific location in the conference room so that delegates can interact with the authors.
- Suggested e-poster dimensions: 121.9 cm x 63.5 cm, 1920 x 1000 pixels
- Number of pages: one (1)
- Orientation: horizontal
- Make sure the text contrasts with the background for better clarity
- If inserting images, prefer .jpeg or .png format
- Do not use effects or video
Submit
The submission of the assignment is done by submitting an electronic abstract, which should:
- Not exceed 300 words
- Be appropriately structured (Introduction - Objectives / Methods - Data / Results / Discussion)
- Include the bibliography used
Regardless of the language of the presentation, the abstract and the details of the authors, the speaker and the supervisor of the assignment should be submitted in both Greek and English.
The submission of the paper is done online through the conference's online platform on the website: www.globalevents.gr
The format of the announcement (Oral or E-poster) will be finally decided by the Organizing Committee, according to the criteria established by the Scientific Committee. After submission, you will receive a message on the acceptance or not of your paper, as well as on the format of the presentation.
Attention: no changes or corrections will be accepted after submission of the paper.
Projects to receive an award
Any Oral Communication and E-poster may be submitted for an award. When submitting the assignment, there will be an option to submit the paper for an award. The topic of the papers submitted for award should be beyond the level of undergraduate studies. In addition, it is a requirement to submit the full text of the paper in the language of the oral presentation, which will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the conference.
The 7 best projects selected for the award will be presented at the same Session of the Conference on (date and day) where the oral presentation of the papers will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
This year, 3 prizes will be awarded, for the best Oral Presentation, the best e-poster, which will be determined by the assessment of the Scientific Committee, and a third prize for the most original Presentation, which will be determined by the vote of the student-convenors. Details of the evaluation process for each category can be found in the Assignment Writing Guide.
Conference participants will have the opportunity to vote for the most original submission of their choice. The Presentation that receives the most votes from the public will win an honorary prize.
